We’re in LogoPond Vol 1!
Much to the joy of many designers the worlds biggest and most popular logo identity inspiration website announced late last year that they were scheduled to release a book.
The eligible designers to appear in the book were those who had been awarded a gallery spot in the past on logopond.com This award has the designers piece brought upfront to the homepage for all to see before it finally drops into the “Gallery” pages where all of the top class logos reside.
The logo design to appear in the logopond book were selected by staff at logopond.com from the gallery pages.
I was delighted to receive an email informing me that 2 of my logo design pieces had made the grade and are due to be published in LogoPond Volume 1 (Hardback) in the summer of 2012 which will be available for purchase via Amazon.
The winning logos will be revealed as soon as we acquire the book.

Pantone Hotel
If you love colours and you equally love mincing around hotels you can slap both of the two together in a double whambo and have yourself a psychedelic stay in the Pantone Hotel in Brussels – Belgium.
For those not in the know, Pantone is a colour system invented by Pantone which started out as a printing company in the 1950′s. The Pantone Matching System, or “PMS” for short comprises of 1,114 spot colours printed onto a series of card strips forming a fan. This is then used as a reference guide for customers to know what they are going to get out of the printer as opposed to having to judge on-screen where brightness and contrast varies according to monitor settings and brand variation.
Unlike any other hotel which may follow a set theme and limited colour scheme The Pantone Hotel boasts an array of their colours throughout the premises sporting everything from funky green bedsheets to jazzy striped mugs giving the impression of a kindergarten rather than a hotel.
This place was built with happiness. The rugged builder was happy when he was laying the foundations, as were the people who slaved to decorate and match up the colours. This place is so happy you’d snigger at anyone who’s unhappy. You simply can’t experience sadness whilst you are perched upon a molded tangy orange seat. It’s one contrast which doesn’t work.
